Texas Nursing Jurisprudence and Ethics

*This activity is designed to meet the required course content established by the Texas

Legislature and the Board of Nursing for licensure renewal.

participating in this activity.
Objectives:
 Differentiate between the Texas Board of Nursing and other nursing organizations.
 Discuss the Nursing Practice Act, board rules, position statements, and guidelines.
 Recognize the difference between nursing practice based on level of licensure and
education.
 Describe select boundary issues nurses might face.
 Verbalize levels of delegation based on a nurse's license and practice setting.
 Discuss the Nurse Peer Review Law and its various components.
 Describe the Multistate Licensure Privilege law’s impact on employability.
 Explain the purpose of nursing continuing professional development/continuing nursing
education and the requirements of relicensure.
 Discuss the nurse's role as it relates to the practice of nursing and healthcare.
 Explore artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for nursing.
 Complete a case study and identify possible bias from the professional staff.

Contact Hours
To receive your certificate of completion, you must read the activity, complete the post-test,
answer 10 out of 13 questions correctly, and agree to the attestation. You must also complete and
submit the evaluation at the conclusion of the activity.
Expiration date for awarding CE credit is July 31, 2029.
Individuals in a position to control content have no financial relationships with ineligible
companies to disclose.
Approval Statements:
Ames Heigh LLC, Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider#
18181, for 2.4 Contact Hours. The certificate should be retained for a period of 4 years after the
course concludes.

Refund policy:
A refund will be made up to the date of the program. No refunds after that date.
Ames Heigh LLC is also an approved provider for ANCC contact hours through the New
Mexico Nurses Association. 2/2.4 contact hours will be awarded. See your certificate for the full
statement.
